My goal as an educator is make learning fun! I was not one of the lucky children to love schoolI growing up, which is one of the reasons why I turned to education. I want to make children feel confident in their learning and in their skills. I have been an elementary school teacher for eight years in an inner city Title I school. Prior to that, I taught in a private preschool for three years. I have a Masters degree in Early Childhood Education. With my experience and education, I have been able to hone my skills in creative and motivational ways to have students intrinsically motivated. Through one-on-one teaching I have seen what I can accomplish with students who do not always have the tools necessary to succeed. I have thorough knowledge of documenting and tracking a student’s progress with formal reporting. Working in the city with a classroom of 28 – 34 students has given me true incite in handling all situations of learning and behavior. I believe that my calmness and ability to creatively make things that may seem complex simple has given me a great success rate with my students.
