Allyson Taber Turner, Ed.S., W.D.P earned a B.S. from Indiana University in Bloomington, IN in Public Affairs and then a B.S. from the University of Southern Indiana in Elementary Education. She achieved a Masters degree in Special Education from National Louis University in Wheeling, IL. She is a highly qualified, effective educator. She holds a Wilson Level One Dyslexia Specialist credential.
She has worked as a general education and special education teacher at both Elementary and Secondary education levels, working with varying exceptionalities such as students with DYSLEXIA, DYSGRAPHIA, ADHD/ADD, and AUTISM, etc…
She has extensive training working with students who thrive with specialized interventions such as Orton-Gillingham-based methods. The learning process can be a struggle for many students with conventional whole-word reading teaching methods. Fortunately, most students thrive when given a multi-sensory structured language program tailored to improve their unique areas of need. Because the techniques used in every tutoring session follow a multi-sensory approach, games, and manipulatives are incorporated into daily lessons, reinforcing previously learned concepts in a fun and engaging way.
