I am New York State certified to teach grades K-6. I am also TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) certified K-12. I have been teaching 4th and 5th grade literacy and ESL in New York City for the past ten years and am currently on a child care leave. I am experienced with the Common Core Standards and in preparing students for the New York State ELA exam (grades 3-5). I’ve worked extensively with English Language Learners of all proficiency levels. I can provide homework help and/or prepare supplemental lessons in areas of weakness. I can work with your child to accelerate their learning of the English language. I am available after school and evenings, Monday through Friday, and possibly weekends. Please contact me for rate.
