Hello there! My name is Mariamu. I have a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience from UCLA. I have six years of experience tutoring middle school, high school, and college-level math and science courses. I have excelled at tutoring because I understand each student learns differently. I personalize each lesson and cater to the needs of each student. Sometimes, I will incorporate learning videos into my lessons to solidify concepts.
Working as a private, full time STEM tutor, I love assisting students improve their academic performance by discerning gaps within their comprehension. I tutor a variety of subjects such as chemistry, biology and math and show students learning can be fun and interesting. Each student has varying challenges and levels of understanding, so my job involves finding ways to connect each student to the material. During my sessions, I present visual aids and engage students in interactive dialog to increase deep understanding and promote long-lasting retention.
Currently, applying to medical school. In her spare time, I volunteer for the homeless which allows me to connect with people, help others, and work with organizations within my community.
