Bachelor of Science in Eduation
I majored in elementary and special education at Boston University and received my permanent teaching certificate in Massachusetts in 1989. I also have teaching interstate reciprocity in New York. I have taught multiple subjects -- English language arts, math, science, social studies, science, drama -- to elementary school students as well as to middle and high school students. When I first started out in teaching, I taught at a private international school in Hong Kong, which is now renamed as American International School and is located in Kowloon.
Presently, I teach and tutor part-time at St. Mary Gate of Heaven and Christ the King Regional High School and enjoy the work there tremendously. I find the job very rewarding. The students are very receptive to instruction, and I feel that they have made progress despite the challenges they face. I also tutor other students part-time privately, and I find the position equally fulfilling.

I work with students on a creative level and engage them to interact as much as possible. I try to involve them in learning by integrating their personal interests. Students do much better if the lesson plan is innovative and if the teacher finds a way to draw them into the academic activity.
