There are plenty of learning centers, test prep centers, and classes throughout the DFW metroplex that offer helpful programs for PSAT, SAT, and ACT tests. The offerings range from large classes to private in-home programs, and prices for these services can range from $80/hr to $7500/package depending on your choice. Unfortunately much of your dollar goes toward full-time staff salary, overhead, corporate expenses, and owners. Although many of the teachers and tutors are very qualified, few are certified teachers and many are still finishing college degrees.
I have worked at test prep centers and tutored through large corporations, but their generic approaches didn't allow me to address each student's individual needs. As a highly qualified, certified Texas teacher with experience in both private tutoring and public High School teaching, I can tailor your student's test preparation specifically to him or her. I scored in the 99th percentile on the PSAT, SAT and ACT in High School, was a National Merit Scholar, and received numerous full ride offers from schools around the country. These aren't "what you know" tests - they're "how you think" tests. I teach students how to think like the test-makers, and have helped students not only achieve minimum acceptance scores for colleges, but also improve scores to secure scholarships and merit-based aid.
