Education
Columbia Univeristy BA in Art History and Philosophy
I teach the skills necessary to compete academically with Ivy League students. As a college counselor, I've guided students into such universities as UCLA, USC, Cornell, Columbia, Brown, Berkeley, and countless other top universities across the country. In addition to working with students to improve their grades, I ensure that their applications are well-rounded and cohesive. I organize extracurricular opportunities, standardized test prep, and admissions outreach to alleviate much of the stress of the college admissions process.
For underclassman, I focus on cultivating strong academic writing, research skills, and study habits to help students prepare for higher education. Most of my students see a full point jump in their GPA during the first year. Students and I set goals for grades, extracurriculars, and summer programs to prepare for the rigorous college admissions process that awaits them senior year.
I specialize in humanities subjects such as AP United States History, AP Language and Composition, AP Literature, AP Spanish, AP European History, and AP Art History, as well as sciences such as AP Biology, AP Psychology, and Physiology.
I'm extremely familiar with private school curricula, as I personally attended Campbell Hall and teach students from Brentwood, Buckley, Harvard Westlake, and Oakwood, to name a few. I received a BA from Columbia University in only 2.5 years and look forward to sharing my secrets to hitting your marks.
Additionally, I’ve worked with students with special needs such as bipolar disorder, agoraphobia, and ADD/ADHD in both classroom and one-on-one settings. My experience with Double Discovery Center and Peer Health Exchange exposed me to a range of personalities and learning styles in a classroom setting. I’ve also homeschooled a number of students.
