I have teaching for over 20 years, in both the United State and Japan. I have taught students in junior and senior high school as well as college. My tutoring experience includes math from algebra through calculus and physics, and SAT preparation.

My style is simple: patience and practice. I provide students with as many examples as they need to master a technique and grasp the underlying concept. I want and expect my students to work through practice problems and not only get the right answer but also understand how they got it. Using a wide variety of techniques and methods, I can show students how to understand subjects like algebra or calculus, enabling them to do well on problem sets and exams.

My recent successes include tutoring one student to an 800 on the SAT math subject test, preparing another student for the PSAT, and helping several students understand important mathematical concepts like imaginary numbers or trigonometric functions.
