Hello, my name is Sarah. Let me tell you a little bit about myself. I have been tutoring for the past 7 years in English and English as a second language (ESL) to elementary and middle school students and adults. I have a BA in English from the University of Delaware, where I was in both the English and the Golden Key National Honor societies. In addition, articles of mine were published in the University of Delaware's school newspaper. Also, I received tutoring certification from both the Literacy Center of Delaware and Reading Assist. I am certified in 9 subjects with WyzAnt Tutoring.

When I tutor, I like to get to know some of your interests during the first session, so I know what types of things might help you to learn better by virtue of you being interested in them, like sports, art, music or anything else. I like to incorporate different varieties of educational activities and games into sessions. Sometimes I create board games or use stories I find on the internet or bought somewhere, activities that range from writing poetry together, made-up songs that might jog your memory, flash cards, concentration games, vocabulary games like hangman, card games that teach you English. It depends on what the student's age level might be at times, but really the sky is the limit. I also make sure to test your recall and review and test you periodically, as well as keep detailed progress reports on your learning.
