I wanted to be a teacher for as long as I can remember. Although I loved school, I constantly struggled in the academic areas. That's why, when I finally started teaching, I continued working with pupils, one-on-one as well. I learned from the beginning, the numerous positive results that develop when individualized instruction is given. Although I tutor in all areas, I specialize in: reading & phonics (I use the Orton Gillingham Program), reading comprehension & fluency, writing & proof reading, & math. I also feel it is important to open the lines of communication with each one of my students' teachers. If we all work together, each child will surely reap the benefits. I know I'm doing a good job, when my pupils or their sibIings later return for tutoring. It's so rewarding to see students, who are struggling to understand, become confident and successful individuals.
