Education
I am certified in secondary education in the social sciences.
I have a Master's Degree in American History.
I am in my tenth year of teaching American History to eighth graders.
I am very experienced in teaching students how to write level 5 DBQ essays and have prepared my classes for the NYS Assessment in Social Studies every year.
I also help students in understanding higher level multiple choice questions as well as primary source documents.
So much of the social studies subject requires strong reading comprehension and writing skills; it is not just memorizing historical facts.
Over the years, I have honed my skills in guiding students, so that they can better understand the material taught in the middle school and Regents level courses.
